ATL Blogger Weekend Recap | Outfit Roundup + Itinerary
Hi, friends! If you follow along on the ‘gram, you know that I had the chance to meet up with some of my closest influencer friends last week! I had an absolute blast getting to meet Ayana in real life. And of course, it was nice seeing Amanda and Nicole again! We’ve all been friends for so long now, texting every day. I highly recommend an IRL meet-up with those Instagram friends you’ve been chatting with all the time. Slide-in those DMs and get those friendships goin!
ATL Blogger Weekend Recap | Outfit Roundup + Itinerary
We chose Atlanta for a few reasons:
1- It was a pretty central location for all of us (NC, DC, FL, & GA)
2- It would allow us to have fun but still be a chill weekend! We’re young but a solid 11 PM bedtime was strongly encouraged by all involved LOL.
Whew! Let’s get into this ATL recap hunny!
Hotel Review
Ok. I’m going to be honest here. I don’t think I’ve ever had such an awful hotel experience in the last 10 years of my life. The entire place smelled like mildew and smoke (despite the no-smoking signs). The interior was missing a few key updates and lighting for their rooms. And we definitely saw some unwanted guests crawling around in their breakfast area. 🙃
You’d think I was describing a low-end hotel with a 2-star rating on Google, but NOPE! We stayed at a Hyatt Place Downtown with over 4 stars! It just goes to show you that everyone’s experiences are different- no matter how reputable the brand. I’m also convinced a few guests were confusing it with other locations in Atlanta. So, unfortunately, I can’t give a good idea of where to stay for your next girl’s trip. But it’s definitely not here!

Friday
Dinner- Alma Cocina in Buckhead
SUPER tasty meal! Latin American cuisine with indoor and outdoor dining. They had lots of drink options and the prices weren’t too bad for a Friday night out. We did scramble to find places to eat where we could reserve ahead of time for groups larger than 2, so plan ahead. In the end, we found a lot of the food options because they were part of the restaurant catering group who did my wedding!
Drinks- Skylounge
The bar has amazing views of midtown Atlanta and lots of parking! They did kind of have a lack of seating/standing room on the deck though. Plan to get there a little before golden hour if you have a friend group going. You might have to bump a few people to get your photos and then chill inside! They also had live music and pretty solid drinks. All in all, I try to avoid bars that don’t have adequate seating areas but it might be worth the try for the views alone!
Saturday
Brunch- South City Kitchen
Get the Chicken and Waffles, period.
Shopping- Ponce City Market
Black Hair Experience
Described as a ‘beautifully crafted celebration of Black hair’ by Essence, The Black Hair Experience is the latest IG selfie museum. Just like the Museum of Ice Cream or 29Rooms, The BHE is what you make of it. It was fun to have moments of nostalgia while taking turns snapping photos. I would’ve loved it if it was more like a museum with informational plaques about the history of Black hair versus interactive showrooms. But it’s definitely still an enjoyable experience for a group to check out!
Dinner- Buena Vida Tapas & Sol
We accidentally double-booked ourselves for Mexican-style food. Whoops. But hey, we’re not complaining! Dinner faves included the empanadas and I’m a sucker for a good sangria.
Old Fourth Ward / Beltline
Sunday
Since Nicole had an earlier flight on Sunday and Ayana was feeling under the weather, we decided to reserve it as a travel day.
